As a rule, I use rock such as polished agate and onyx for my bases and the sculpture is either secured with high strength epoxy or a drilled stud mounting. Either way, I will notify you what is available on your order prior to placing an order.
In 1999 I was approached by a young Marine (Rodney Staley) if I could create the Marine emblem, Eagle, Globe and Anchor. This would be the start my path in the "niche" market providing creations not normally done in glass.
During his tour of bases, the newly appointed General Jones, Commandant of the Marine Corps happened to see one on display at Rodney's booth. The next thing I know I'm being contacted by the Pentagon requesting the newly created design for gift to important high ranking military, political and civilian individuals. I have some presentation pictures that include President G.W. Bush, Ross Perot and Michael Dell (CEO) I'll dig up and post soon. I'm proud to say that I continue providing all Commandant since then including a few pieces for the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

A take off from a design from Jim Thingwood using a frog sitting on an ice cube. More of a just for fun piece and enjoy making them.
I was commissioned to create a "Tree of Life" menorah for an outgoing president of a Jewish synagog. Definitely one of the bigger pieces I've made and certainly the heaviest. Removable frosted candles with 22k gold on the candle flame and holders with a white glass dove. Mounted on picture sandstone.

This is an experimental proof of concept piece using ultraviolet sensitive glass (Northstar Pink Flamingo) activated by an ultraviolet LED mounted inside the hollow body (you can see the red alligator power clips to the LED leads).
